YOGA and ME

ABOUT

My name is Cleo. I am Italian but have lived in the UK most of my life.  I started practicing yoga in London 20 years ago. I was initially drawn to Iyengar yoga and only later on discovered stronger asana based practises as well as restorative ones and yoga nidra.

Over the course of these twenty years other spiritual practices have led me on a path of self discovery through yoga as well as dance and physical movement.

I am yoga teacher, a trainer, a Buddhist, an ayurvedic practitioner, a mum, a swimmer, a dancer and above all a woman. I decided to take yoga one step further 5 years ago when I enrolled on one of the most recommended training courses here in Bristol under the guidance of Laura Gilmore at Bristol City Yoga School (now renamed Bristol School of Yoga).

A few years prior to that two life changing events threw me back to questioning the meaning of life. Yoga has been for me a tremendous tool for healing myself and for finding a path to ‘satya”, in Sanskrit, meaning a path to clarity and truthfulness to share with other people.

I completed the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Bristol City Yoga in October 2015. To this followed a Total Yoga Nidra Foundation Course with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and then, more recently, a Diploma in Well Woman Yoga with Birthlight.

Well Woman Yoga has led me to Ayurveda, it has helped me to heal, to balance my hormones and my cycle and to grow. I have inspired other women in Bristol and can only continue on this path.

I have always had a strong passion for general fitness and well-being. Having explored many forms of dance since I was a teenager including classical dance, jazz dance, contemporary dance. Later in life I practiced Gabrielle Roth’s 5 Rhythms in Bristol for many years and further developed an understanding of the energy flows through our body and our lives.

Come, explore and learn with me.
